What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store and send back with later requests. They can remember a preference, keep you signed in or, in the case of tracking cookies, follow you from site to site. This site uses a cookie only for the first of those.

The cookie we set

One first-party, functional cookie:

• Name: NEXT_LOCALE
• Purpose: remembers the language you are reading in, so that opening zirtuno.com without a language in the address keeps you in it
• Duration: session. Your browser deletes it when the session ends
• Shared with: no one. Only this site reads it

It is strictly functional and holds nothing but a language code, pt or en, which is why the site does not ask for consent to set it.

Analytics without cookies

We measure traffic with Plausible Analytics, which was built to work without cookies. It counts visits in aggregate, stores no IP addresses and writes nothing to your browser. What it measures is described in our Privacy Policy.

Session storage

Session storage is a small space in your browser, separate from cookies, that belongs to a single tab. The site keeps two values there:

• Your place on the page: when a link or a language switch takes you to a section of another page, the section you are heading to, read once on arrival and then deleted
• Graphics performance: a one-time measurement of what your device can render, so the animated field does not have to test it again on every page

Neither is sent to a server, and both disappear when you close the tab.

Managing cookies
